Nina M. (Beisner) Reese, 94, of Plainville, Kansas and formerly of Natoma, Kansas died Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Redbud Village in Plainville.
Nina was born January 6, 1919 in Round Mound Township, Natoma, Kansas. She was the fourth of five children born to George and Elizabeth (Schneider) Beisner. She grew up and attended school in the Round Mound area.
Nina was united in marriage to Harold Herman Reese on October 17, 1943 in Natoma, Kansas. This union was blessed with a son, James. They made their home on a farm north of Laton and during the 50’s moved to a farm near Natoma. Nina was a devoted mother and farmer’s wife. Harold preceded her in death in 1993. Several years after Harold died, she moved into Natoma.
Nina was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Natoma. She was active with the quilting group of the church. She also made quilts for charity and family and friends.
Surviving family include her son James Reese and wife Nancy of Lawrence, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; three brothers Everett George Beisner, Edwin Henry Beisner and Hubert Verney Beisner; and sister Amanda Boedeker.
Celebration of Nina’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Peace Lutheran Church of Natoma with Pastor Michael Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at the North Lutheran Cemetery north of Natoma. Viewing will be from 9:00 AM to Service Time, Wednesday, at Peace Lutheran Church. A memorial has been established with the Peace Lutheran Church of Natoma. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Polhman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
