We had a great time dedicating the memorial at 11:00 A.M. on Veterans Day, Monday, November 12, 2007.  Events planned took place at the memorial which is located in Russell, on Hwy 40 next to the golf course and almost across the street from Vintage Place.  Hundreds of members of the community and the local Russell Public School children helped celebrate the memorial dedication in order to remember those men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.  Along with Henry, Don and Darren, other distinguished guest who spoke included; Mayor Carol Dawson, Pastor Roger Dennis, V.F.W. Post #6240 Commander Ken Bryant and Gordon Gorton was master of ceremonies.  We also had the pleasure of the Ruppenthal Middle School Band attending the dedication and playing patriotic songs.  Henry Pohlman, Don Varner and Darren Peeler would like to thank everyone involved who helped plan, conduct and participated in getting the Russell County Veterans Memoral started and dedicated.  Please check back for memorial updates.
