Charlie G. Louder, 95 of Russell, Kansas died Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell.
Charlie was born February 8, 1918 on the family farm near Victor, Kansas the son of Thomas J. and Stella Oral (Peckham) Louder. He grew up and attended school in the Lincoln County area.
Charlie served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He served on a ship in the European Theater. After the war, he returned to Burroak, Kansas for a few years before moving to Jewel County in 1951.
Charlie was united in marriage to Marie Louder. They made their home in the Pinedale, Wyoming area. Charlie worked for the State of Wyoming for many years as well as in the oil fields of Wyoming. In 2004, Charlie moved to Russell, Kansas to be closer to his brother, Seth. He was a member of the Pinedale V.F.W. Post. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and cutting wood with his wife.
Surviving family include his brother Seth Louder (Bonnie) of Russell, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marie; five brothers George, Clark, Louis, Roy, Glen and Jefferson; and six sisters, Hattie Lessor, Ola Wilbeck, Edith Lessor, Dortha Lowder, Carrie Larsen and Ina Couse.
A private family service will be held when his ashes are scattered with his wife’s ashes in Wyoming. Family will be present to greet friends on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary is in charge of these arrangements.
