Caroline Meier, 98 of Blue Springs, Missouri and former Russell resident, died on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the Vista Hospice Care Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Caroline was born on December 28, 1915, in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Miller) Weimaster.  She grew up and attended school and spent most of her life in the Russell area.  She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Carl J.G. Meier on January 30, 1937, in Russell.  From this union Caroline and Carl were blessed with two children a son Dale and daughter Carolyn.  Caroline had the demanding and rewarding job of being a homemaker and loved taking care of her husband and children.  She also loved vegetable gardening, sewing, crafts, soap operas and a WWE Wrestling fan.  She was also a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Russell.

Surviving family include her son Dale E. Meier of Blue Springs, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl; daughter Carolyn Meier; brother Albert Weimaster; and sister Lydia Streck.

A celebration of Caroline's life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 01, 2014, at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas, with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating.  Burial will follow at the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Russell.  Visitation and family greeting guests will be from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. the day of the service on April 01 at the mortuary.  Condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell who is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
