Catherine “Cathy” Lee Reich, age 60 of Buffalo, MN passed away at her home on July 13, 2014. Funeral service on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11 AM at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greenfield, MN. Visitation from 3-7 pm on Thursday with a prayer service at 7 PM & one hour prior to service, ALL AT THE CHURCH. Interment Salem Cemetery, Greenfield, MN.
Cathy was born on September 22, 1953 in Seattle, WA to Donald and Wilma Jean Blaske. In 1956, she and her brother Wayne were adopted, baptized, and raised in Russel, KS by John & Martha (Tews) Ulrich. After high school in 1971, she moved to Minnesota where she attended and then graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm with a BA degree majoring in English. Cathy taught school for 2.5 years & would substitute teach for many years after. While teaching, she met and then married Michael Hillard Reich on December 10th, 1977. Together they raised 5 sons whom which she was very active in their athletic and academic activities. Cathy also fostered over 150 children from 1988 until July of 2012. She received the “Mother of the Year” award from the Women’s Expo in 2000. She was a co-founder and President of the Minnesota chapter of the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America. She served on the board of directors for the American Pinzgauer Association. Cathy truly loved her cows, dogs, fishing, and playing cards with the family and friends.

Survived by her husband, Michael Reich; sons, Peter Reich, Aaron (Kelly) Reich, John (Katie) Reich, Adam (Kirstin) Reich & Paul (fiancé, Maria) Reich; grandchildren, Zachary, Lily, Alexander, Asher, Micah; brother, Wayne (Mary) Ulrich; father & mother-in-law, William & Audrey Reich; nieces & nephews.
