Rogena Ruth Trimpe, 46, of Abilene, Kansas, died on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at her home in Abilene.

Rogena was born on March 29, 1968 in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Daniel and Ellen Ruth (Chrisler) Strang.  She grew up in Ashland, Kansas and graduated from Ashland High School in the class of 1987.  She completed the CNA program at Dodge City Community College.  She lived in Little River for several years and lived in Valley Falls for a while.    Later she moved to Abilene and went to work for Russell Stover’s Candies as an EMT Supervisor.  She enjoyed antique shopping, helping her dad on his ranch, watching football and walking her dog Lulu.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two daughters. 

She is survived by her daughters Maranda Whorton and husband Garrett of Newton, Kansas and Mattie Trimpe of Hutchinson, Kansas; father Daniel Strang of Valley Falls, Kansas; brother Roddy Strang and wife Barb of Kirkwood, Pennsylvania and sister Rhonda King and husband Kaine of Wichita, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

A celebration of Rogena’s life will be held at 1 PM on Monday, September 15, 2014, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell with Pastor Ted Weis officiating.  Burial will follow at the Fairport Cemetery in Fairport, Kansas.  Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to service time on Monday.  A memorial has been established to the Valley Hope Patient Fund of Moundridge, Kansas.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral service arrangement.
