Bruce B. Booth, 83, of Russell, Kansas died October 30, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Wilson, Kansas.
Bruce was born December 12, 1930 in Larned, Kansas to Ray and Edith (Vanderbur) Booth. He spent his childhood in the Larned area then moved to Russell while in high school. Bruce graduated from Russell High School in 1951.
Bruce was a member of the United States Army stationed in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and serving in Germany from 1951 to 1953. After his service, he returned to the Russell area where he met and married Fern Anderson. They were united in marriage May 29, 1970 in Wakeeney, Kansas and celebrated 35 years of marriage in 2005. They made their home in Russell, Kansas. Fern preceded him in death on December 15, 2005.
Bruce worked for local car dealerships detailing cars. He was a life member of the Russell V.F.W. Post #6240 and also served as a Senior Companion. He enjoyed raising and caring for dogs especially his loyal dog, Zack.
Survivors include his sister-in-law Barbara Booth, niece Jenna Carver, nephew Evan Booth, all of Clay Center, Kansas.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, wife Fern, brother Ray Booth, and nephew Mark Booth.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 04, 2014 from 9:00am to 8:00pm at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary. Cremation will follow the day of visitation. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas is in charge of these arrangements.
