Seth Scott Louder, 82, of Russell, Kansas passed away on Sunday, December 07, 2014 at his home in Russell.

Seth was born on February 19, 1932 in Lincoln, Kansas, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Stella (Peckham) Louder.  He grew up in Lincoln and Burr Oak, Kansas and graduated from Burr Oak High School in 1950.  After high school he attended Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.  In 1952 he joined the United States Navy and served until 1956.  Also that same year he moved to Russell.  Later he met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Bonnie Faye Clark on June 20, 1957 in Ord, Nebraska.  From this union Seth and Bonnie were blessed with 4 children Tanya, Patrick, Phyllis and Michael.  He worked for many years with the City of Russell and retired from the Russell Power Plant.  He also worked in the oil fields, and worked for Abco Wire, Farley Machine Shop, George Richard's Machine Shop and Bishop Machine Shop.  He was a member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post #99, Masonic Lodge #177, ISIS Shrine and Scottish Rite both of Salina   He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coon hunting and auto mechanics.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving family include his wife Bonnie of the home; children Tanya LaMastus and husband Ronnie of Roxbury, Kansas, Patrick Louder of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Phyllis Voldrich of Wichita, Kansas and Michael Louder and wife Kathy of Russell; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 12 brothers and sisters.

A celebration of Seth's life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell with Pastor John Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow at the Russell City Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted by the Russell V.F.W. Post #6240 Honor Guard.  Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at the mortuary with family present to greet guests from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening.  Memorials can be given to Shriner's Children's Hospital and sent in care of the mortuary.   Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
