Marlin Wayne Buehler, 76, of Russell, Kansas passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell.
Marlin was born August 14, 1938 in Russell, Kansas the son of Harvey A. and Irene (Bachman) Buehler. He grew up and attended school in Dorrance, Kansas. He was a graduate of Dorrance High School.
Marlin was united in marriage to Bonnetta “Bonnie” Hill on June 26, 1960 in the Dorrance Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with two children; Marlene and Brad. They made their home in Russell.
Marlin was a professional truck driver. He worked for the County of Russell Highway Department, John O. Farmer Oil, Koch Oil Co. and Tollie Freightliner. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Russell. He enjoyed working in his yard and socializing with his friends.
Marlin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie of the home; daughter, Marlene Pederson of Kansas City, Missouri; son, Brad Buehler (Susan) of California, Maryland; two granddaughters, Madison and Courtney; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Celebration of Marlin’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, April 20, 2015 at the St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating. A Graveside Service and Interment will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday at the Dorrance City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 19, 2015 from noon to 8:00 PM at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Memorials have been established with the St. John Lutheran Church and the Hays Humane Society.
