James E. Dumler, 81 of Nixa, MO passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.
Jim was born on May 2, 1933 in Russell, Kansas to Paul and Theresa (Reissig) Dumler. He grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School with the class of 1951.
Jim was united in marriage to Dixie L. Carlman, of Russell, on August 3, 1952 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Russell, KS.
Jim worked for Safeway Stores in Russell, was transferred to Garden City, KS, Stafford, KS and finally Abilene, KS where most of their married life was spent.
Jim loved all sports, football, basketball, bowling, fishing, K-State Football and Basketball, St. Louis Cardinal and K.C. Royals Baseball. He enjoyed watching his grandsons as they participated in sports.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dixie of the home, children Amy(Tom) Moore of Springfield, MO, Randall(Pam)Dumler of Loomis, CA, Melissa Dumler(Ellen Gray) of Springfield, MO; three grandsons and five great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.
Jim is survived by one sister, Marjorie Pohlman, of Russell. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 8, 2015 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell. Burial of ashes will follow at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Russell.
