Sharlet E. (Fisk) Ginther, 67, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas.
Sharlet was born October 26, 1947 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lee R. and Mural (Stubblefield) Fisk. In 1949, Sharlet and her family moved to Russell where she attended school. She graduated from Russell High School in 1965.
Sharlet was united in marriage to Milton G. Ginther on August 28, 1965 in Russell. While Milt was deployed, they made their home at Ft. Ord and later Ft. Irwin in California. They then came back in Russell before moving to Oklahoma (for a short period of time). Milton and Sharlet finally resided back in Russell for the remainder of Sharlet’s life. This union was blessed with three children; Kelly, Natalie and Kyle.
Sharlet was a devoted Christian, wife, mentor and homemaker. She worked as a Mary Kay consultant from 1981 to present. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, where she served as a secretary for a while. Sharlet was also a member of the Russell V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing ceramics, remodeling homes with Milton, canning, cooking, and attending all of her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and family gatherings. Regardless of what Sharlet was doing, she was always smiling and spreading the word of God.
Surviving family include her husband of 50 years, Milton of the home; sons, Kelly Ginther (Kimberly) of Russell, Kansas and Kyle Ginther (friend Rhona) of Cuba, Kansas; daughter, Natalie Yarmer (Justin) of Russell, Kansas; mother, Mural Fisk of Russell, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Dalton Ginther, Danika Drake (Andrew), Mackenzie Huff, Savanna Huff, Brittney Mayberry, Kaegan Ginther and Kylee Ginther; and one great grandchild Zane Brock; sister in-law Maxine Fisk and niece Stephanie McCurdy & husband Braden.
She was preceded in death by her father and brother Stephen Fisk.
