Mildred Catherine (Hall) Terry, 91, of Russell, Kansas and formerly of Waldo, Kansas passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell.
Mildred was born October 19, 1924 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of David and Ruth (Goodwin) Hall. She grew up in the Uniontown area and graduated from a rural high school. She worked for the Social Security Board in Maryland and worked for the Triumph Explosive Company where she made 4MM shells for the Navy. Mildred was united in marriage to Albert Lester Terry on October 20, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland. They made their home on a farm near Waldo for a few years before purchasing the Bodmer Ranch. She then worked over 41 years at Klema’s IGA before retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Waldo United Methodist Church. She enjoyed raising birds and small animals and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving family include numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Albert on June 7, 2005; brother David Hall, Jr.; and sister Freida Lowe.
Celebration of Mildred’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Waldo United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Grand Center Cemetery near Waldo. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell. Memorials have been established with the Waldo Senior Center or the Waldo United Methodist Church.
