Helen M. Nutsch, 90, of Russell, Kansas, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas.
Helen was born on February 17, 1926, in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Katherine (Rein) Dumler. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in 1944. After High School, she worked for Reinhardt Construction. She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Paul R. Nutsch on February 17, 1950, in Wichita, KS. While Paul was away for military service, she lived in Wichita and worked at Boeing during the Korean War. From this union Helen and Paul were blessed with two daughters Dee Ann and Nancy. The family made their home in Russell and she worked with Paul to tend to the family farm. The farming and ranching was not only hard work for Helen but it was also her passion. She also enjoyed reading newspapers as well as farming and ranching papers and magazines but her first love was taking care of the farm.
Surviving family include her husband Paul of the home, daughters Dee Ann Nutsch of Wichita, Kansas, and Nancy Nutsch of Russell, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Eva Dunlap and Irene Ball and brother Carl Dumler.
A memorial service to honor Helen's life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 01, 2016, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas with Pastor Ron Wedel officiating. Cremation has preceded the services and inurnment of the cremains will follow the chapel service. Family will greet guests before and after the service. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association and sent in care of the mortuary. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
