Laurel D. "Bud" Williams, 60, of Russell, Kansas, died on Thursday, July 07, 2016, from a tragic fall from a ladder while working on his home.

Bud was born on November 07, 1955, in Phillipsburg, Kansas, the son of Paul Duane and Ruby June (Schoen) Williams.  He grew up in the Russell, Kansas, area and graduated from Russell High School.  He worked as a contractor and handyman, mostly working on spall repair and maintenance jobs in the Russell and surrounding area.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Russell.  He enjoyed being a handyman and using his hands to help people.  He loved the outdoors and spending time with his dog and spending time with his friends.

Surviving family include his mother Ruby J. Williams of Russell, Kansas; brother Scotty P. Williams of Salina, Kansas, sister Debra Williams of California and nephew Nicolas Williams.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother Tom Williams and sister Deniese Williams.

A private family service will take place at a later date.  Cremation has preceded the service.  Family and friends may send cards and condolences to the mortuary.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the services.
