Kenneth Fredrick Lyle, 76, of Natoma, Kansas, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
Kenneth was born may 21, 1941, in Alexandria, Kentucky, the son of Kenneth Key and Constance L. (Penquiley) Lyle. He grew up and attended school in Alexandria. At the age of 18, he moved to the Russell, Kansas area to work in the oil fields.
Kenneth met, fell in love, and was united in marriage to Linda Evelyn Wells on December 6, 1961 in Miami, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three children; Kenny, Connie and Kristine. They made their home Russell, Wilson and in 1967 moved to Natoma.
Kenneth has worked in the oil fields most all of his life. He worked for Red Tiger Drilling and was the Supervisor of Rig #8. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed mowing lawns, sitting on his front porch and talking with family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving family include his wife of 56 years, Linda of the home; daughters, Connie Mayberry (Ricky) of Luray, Kansas and Kristine Holmes of Russell, Kansas; five brothers, Larry Lyle of Falmouth, Kentucky, Ralph Lyle of Hammersville, Ohio, Allen Lyle (Sandy) of Alexandria, Kentucky, Gary Lyle (Becky) of West Union, Ohio, and William Lyle of Hammersville, Ohio; four sisters, Deloris Terry and Virginia Palmer both of Hammersville, Ohio, Kathleen Swanger of Mayslick, Kentucky and Linda King of Harrison, Ohio; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, son Kenny Lyle and grandson Elijah Holmes.
A Celebration of Kenneth’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Paradise United Methodist Church in Paradise, Kansas. Burial of ashes will follow at a later date. The family will be present to greet friends from 10:00 AM to Service Time on Friday at the Church. Memorials have been established with the Natoma Community Center and Kids Camp with Paradise United Methodist Church.
