Mildred Irene (Glynn) Ehrlich, 99, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, at Main Street Manor in Russell.
Mildred was born September 8, 1919 in Hoisington, Kansas. She was one of seven children born to Thomas and Mary (Fitts) Glynn. She grew up in Hoisington and graduated from Hoisington High School.
Mildred met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Rolland A. Ehrlich on April 10, 1938 in the Lutheran Church in Great Bend, Kansas. They made their home in Russell County on Rolland’s family farm. This union was blessed with four children; Donald, Karen, Larry and Barbara. Rolland preceded her in death on February 19, 2012
Mildred was a devoted wife and homemaker for her husband and children. She was very active in the day to day operations of the family farm and raising her children. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church. She also belonged to the Mayflower Society. She was a creative person who enjoyed making clothes for her children and grandchildren, making crafts and doing pencil portrait drawings. Her main joy in life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mildred’s surviving family include her daughters, Karen Witt (Cecil) of Russell, Kansas and Barbara Edwards (Tim) of Olathe, Kansas; son, Larry G. Ehrlich of Westwood Hills, Kansas; brother, Bob Glynn of Hoisington, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Mark, Kristin, Jennifer, Tracy, Stephanie, Bruce and Amy, ten great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rolland; son Donald Ehrlich; brothers, Jack Glynn and Tommy Glynn; sisters, Virginia Cole , Dorothy Degner and Mary Little; granddaughter Lori Ann Caylor; son-in-law Melvin Caylor and step grandson Cecil Witt, Jr.
Celebration of Mildred’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the Russell City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Memorial has been established with St. John Lutheran Church. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
