Anita Gene (Glick) Driscoll, 66 of Russell, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
Anita was born February 25, 1944 in Russell, the daughter of H. Eugene and Ada (Dougherty) Glick. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in 1961.
Anita was united in marriage to Dennis Kilian in April of 1963. This union was blessed with two children; Tony and Lori. Later she was united in marriage to Kenneth Dole on August 9, 1974 in Wichita. Kenneth preceded her on March 5, 1993. Anita was united in marriage to Jack Driscoll on December 15, 1995 in Russell where they made their home.
Out of high school, Anita started working as a secretary for Ostrum Attorney & Law offices. After she obtained her Abstract and Title license, she started working for Woelk Attorney & Law office. During the 1970’s she owned and operated the Russell Abstract & Title Company. In 1981 she opened and operated the Dole Abstract & Title Company in Russell. She changed the name to Post Rock Abstract & Title in 1995. She also was the owner and operator of the Wilson Abstract & Title, now Post Rock Abstract & Title in Ellsworth.
Anita was a member of the V.F.W. Post #6240 Auxiliary, American Legion Post #99 Auxiliary and the Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Kansas Land & Title. She was a very Classy and fashionable lady who enjoyed working all the time. She loved shopping in catalogs, wearing high heels, cooking and being with family and friends. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary of family and friends.
Surviving family include her husband of 14 years, Jack of the home; son Tony Kilian and wife Sharyn of Russell; step son William Dole and step daughter Nancy Poche both of Russell; mother, Ada Wanamaker of Russell; brother, Tom Glick and companion Pat Krantz of Pittsburg, Kansas; sister, Barbara McCall and husband Dick of Pratt, Kansas; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father H.Eugene and daughter Lori Kilian.
Celebration of Anita’s Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Trinity United Methodist Church of Russell with Pastor Terry McGuire officiating. Interment will follow at the Russell City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Tuesday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary with the family present to greet friends from 6 PM to 7 PM. A memorial has been established with the V.F.W. Post #6240 Ladies Auxiliary. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
