William E. Reh, 89 of Natoma died on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Wheatland Nursing Center of Russell.

William was born on December 22, 1920 in rural Natoma, Kansas the son of Todd and Rhoda F. (Snapp) Reh.  William was raised in the Natoma and Osborne County area and graduated from Natoma High School in 1939.  Later he went into the army and fought for his country in World War II as a Tech 5 in the 503rd Ordinance as a heavy maintenance mechanic and participated in the occupation of Normandy.  After the war he returned to Natoma, he met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Velda V. Burger on August 3, 1947 at the Church of God Holiness in Natoma.  From this union they were blessed with their daughter Sheryl.  William was a butcher and supported the family by owning and operating Reh Brothers Meat Packing Plant for 37 years with his brother Marion.  William and Velda attended the Church of God for many years before attending the Methodist Church later in life.  They enjoyed being involved in many church groups and activities.  William also enjoyed riding horses, playing horseshoes and traveling to many different states in his RV.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter Sheryl Reh Bliss and husband Larry of Northglenn, Colorado; 2 grandchildren Brandon L. Bliss and wife Valerie, Brenna Alexander and husband Marty all of Thornton, Colorado and great grandchildren Lilly, Quentin and Autumn Alexander and Sarah and William Bliss.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Velda on December 15, 2003; 3 brothers Virgil T., Everett L. and Marion L. Reh; 3 sisters Ester M. and Annabelle Reh and Betty Dalrymple and an infant granddaughter.

A celebration of William’s life will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Natoma Methodist Church with Pastor Earl Haggard and Pastor Allison Williams officiating.  Interment will follow at the Natoma City Cemetery in Natoma.  Visitation will be from 10 AM to 8 PM on Friday, August 6, 2010 at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Natoma.  Following the graveside service the family would like to invite family and friends to join them for food and fellowship at the Natoma Community Center.  Memorials may be given to the Natoma Methodist Church and sent in care of the mortuary.  Condolences may be emailed by going to www.pvpmortuary.com.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Natoma is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
