Jeremy Gates, of the Derby and Wichita, Kansas area and former Russell resident, died at his home on January 18, 2011. 

Jeremy Michael "Gator" Gates, former manager for Atwoods in Park City,died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the age of 34.  Jeremy is survived by his parents, Rick and Karen Gates of Russell, KS; sister, Amanda Truan and her husband Kevin of Gorham, KS; niece, Lexi Truan; aunts and uncles, Carlene and Richard Diller of Wichita, Dale and Madlyn Swenson of Concordia, Mark and Anna Gates of Wichita; many cousins and his two beloved pet dogs, Daisy and Rogue and Jasper the cat. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Smith Mortuary Chapel, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby, KS. Memorials have been established with Lifeline Animal Placement and Protection,310 W. 45th St. N., Wichita, KS. 67204 and Shriners Hospital, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60707.
