Pauline Taggart, 88 of Phillipsburg and formerly of Waldo, Kansas died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Pauline and her twin brother were born June 18, 1922 in Kenwood, Oklahoma.  One of fifteen children, including five sets of twins, born to Bill and Nancy (Ketcher) Russell.  She grew up and attended schools in the Oklahoma area.

Pauline met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Franklin Patterson Taggart on November 18, 1948 in Bentonville, Arkansas.  This union was blessed with five children; Paulette, Charlette, Monette, Junette and Frank.  Franklin preceded her in death on April 20, 1985.

Pauline was a devoted homemaker and wife.  Due to Frank, Sr’s  job, their family moved a lot, living in Grove, Oklahoma, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Kansas.  They moved to the Waldo area in 1968.

Pauline attended the Penticostal Church in Oklahoma growing up.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, watching baseball, playing bingo and attending family reunions.

Surviving family include four daughters, Paulette Marez and husband Jerry of Phillipsburg, Kansas, Charlette Baker and husband Dorsey of Gainesville, Texas, Monette Terry of Waldo, Kansas and Junette Bealby and husband Phil of Mullinville, Kansas; son, Frank Taggart and wife Nancy of Kerrville, Texas; three sisters, Pearl Sitsler of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Dorothy Dollarhyde of Mena, Arkansas and Maxine Madlock of Roseberg, Oregon; seven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, five sisters, grandson Earle Lee Terry and great grandchild Augustine Falcon.

Celebration of Pauline’s Life will be held Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Trinity Southern Baptist Church of Afton, Oklahoma with Pastor David Holland officiating.  Burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Afton.  Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell with the family present to greet friends from 6 PM to 7 PM.  A memorial has been established with Phillips County Retirement Center.  Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
