Jeffrey Carl Searles, 43 of Russell died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.

Jeffrey was born November 14, 1967 in Biddeford, Maine, the son of Raymond O. and Dorothy (Nadeau) Searles.  He grew up and attended schools in Waterboro, Maine until his teen years when he moved to the Russell area.

Jeff meet, fell in love and was united in marriage to Michelle Mitchell on July 10, 1992 in Waterboro, Maine.  This union was blessed with a daughter, Alyssa.  Jeff and his family made their home in Russell.

Jeff started out working in the oil fields.  He was a floor hand for Express Well Service and a pulling unit operator for DS&W Oil Service.  Then in February, 2004, Jeff became the owner and operator of Xtreme Well Service.

Jeff was an outgoing person that enjoyed being outdoors riding his motorcycle, four wheeling or pulling practical jokes on his friends.  He was involved with cage fighting and collecting guns.

Surviving family include his wife Michelle and daughter Alyssa of the home; mother Dorothy Searles of Waterboro, Maine; brother Ronald Searles of Waterboro, Maine; sisters, Pamela Fay and Cindy Lou Strout both of Waterboro, Maine; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond.

Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held at 11:00 A.M.  Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church of Russell with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating.  Burial will follow at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Russell.  Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Monday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary with the family present to greet friends from 6 PM to 7 PM.  A memorial has been established as the Alyssa Searles Education Fund.  Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary who is in charge of these arrangements.
