Barbara A. Brown, 65, of Russell, Kansas, died on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.

Barbara was born on January 28, 1946 in Racine, Wisconsin the daughter of James and Valeria (Hazen) Corwin.  She grew up and attended school in the Racine area and graduated from Racine High School in 1964.  She worked for many years and retired from S.C. Johnson where she worked as a forklift operator.  Later, she met fell in love and was united in marriage to Charles E. Brown on August 13, 2002 in Russell, Kansas.  She enjoyed working with crafts and flowers as well as watching baseball and football.  She especially enjoyed watching her beloved Green Bay Packers play hardnosed football.

Surviving family include her husband Charles Brown of Russell, sisters Diana Kluge and Delores Henges both of Racine, Wisconsin, 2 children and 2 step children, 3 grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren.

Preceded by:  Parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

A graveside celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011at the Altoona Cemetery in Altoona, Kansas, with Pastor Jim Raymond officiating; burial will follow the graveside service.  Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell with the family present from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. Tuesday evening.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
