Donald Edwin Moser, 96, of Russell, Kansas, died on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Main Street Manor Nursing Center in Russell, Kansas
Donald was born on July 11, 1915, in Oxford, Nebraska, the son of Jacob and Eva Mae (McDugal) Moser. He grew up and attended school in the Oxford area. Later, he met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Esther L. Hoyle on January 17, 1938 in Smith Center, Kansas. From this union Donald and Esther were blessed with three sons Donald Jr., James and Leslie. Esther preceded him in death on October 20, 2004 For a while he worked as an oil field worker and later worked as a truck driver with R.C. Williams before retiring in 1978. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, cutting and burning wood. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, most of all his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons James Moser and wife Georgia of Norton, Kansas and Leslie Moser and wife Joy of Wichita, Kansas; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Esther son Donald Jr., brothers Art and Ruben Moser and a sister Edith Carlin.
A memorial service to celebrate Donald’s life will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating. Cremation has preceded the services and inurnment of the cremains will take place in Oxford, Nebraska at a later date. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
