Chris Alan Beck, 39, of Russell, Kansas, died on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at his home.
Chris was born on Saturday, February 5, 1972 in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Bud and Peggy (Quinley) Beck. He grew up and attended school in the Great Bend area. He moved to Russell in 2003 and worked as a truck driver for Russell County and Allied Cement. He also transported fuel trailers and grain hoppers as well. He enjoyed watching movies and spending time with his daughters.
He is survived by two daughters Jessica and Emily Beck both of Great Bend, Kansas; his parents Peggy and Bud Beck; two brothers Nicholas Beck of Lawrence, Kansas and Philip Beck of Davey Nebraska and his daughter’s mother Sandy Smith of Great Bend.
A memorial service to honor and remember Chris’ life will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas, with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating. The family will be greeting guests from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the mortuary. Cremation has been selected by the family, so there will be no public viewing. Following the service, the cremains will be inurned at Russell City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Chris Beck Memorial Fund and sent in care of the mortuary. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
