Sharon Kay Hoffman, 57, Loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012 in DeSoto, Texas, after an 18 year battle with cancer. Born November 17, 1954, in Ellsworth, KS, Sharon, later moved to DeSoto, TX, in 1985, and worked for Hunt Oil for nearly 20 years.
Survivors include her husband, Steve; mother, Betty Godfrey of Lyons, KS; son, Travis Piesker and wife, Amy and their two children, Troy and Alycia of Plano, TX; stepson, Luke Hoffman and wife, Vanity and their two children, Noah and Jaxon of Euless, TX; stepdaughter, Danielle Ewers and husband, Travis and their two children, Garrett and Gavin of Russell, KS; sisters, Melanie Sinnett of Pittsburg, KS, Janna Foss of Nickerson, KS, Cindy Webb of Overland Park, KS, Lisa Bolton of Bedford, TX; brother, Brent Godfrey of Lyons, KS; mother-in-law, Imogene Hoffman of Russell, Kansas; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
A Celebration of the Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic Church of Russell with Fr. Charles Steier officiating. Burial will follow at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Russell. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 5 PM at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell. Vigil will be held at 7:00 PM Monday evening at St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic Church. The family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society and Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care. Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
