Donald Adair Goetz, 76, of Hallettsville, passed away Jan. 30, 2012.  He was born on Nov. 16, 1935 to William & Helen Herman Goetz in Victoria, Kansas. 

Don was active in the oil field work and had lived overseas for a number of years.  He came to Hallettsville, started Goetz Service in 1979, and ran it for 24 years.  He also enjoyed working on his farm and going fishing.

Don is survived by: his wife Jackie of 57 years; children, Don Goetz & wife Dorthy of Giddings, TX, Jaylene Franke of Paige, TX, and Janna Johnson & husband Craig of Kingland, TX; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty Wagner and Gloria Teal of Russell, KS; and brother Bill Goetz of Houston, TX.

Don was preceded in death by: his parents; infant son; and sister Arlene Sturman.

A graveside service to honor Don’s life will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Russell, Kansas.  Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. on Saturday morning at the mortuary.  In lieu of flowers the family has asked people to give to the charity or organization of their choice and send in care of the mortuary.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
