Mary Ann (Evans) Headley, 86, of Russell died Thursday evening at her home.

Mary Ann was born June 21, 1925 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Thomas C. and Mary E. (Tucker) Evans.  She grew up in Oklahoma and Kansas.  She attended school in Russell.

Mary Ann was united in marriage to Marvin Glenn Zimmerman in 1942 in Colorado.  Later she was united in marriage to Ronald D. Headley in 1976 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mary Ann was a nurse’s aid at the Good Samaritans Home in Ellsworth, Kansas for many years.  She also helped Ronald on their farm.

Mary Ann loved spending time with her family and friends and doing cross word puzzles.

Surviving family include her husband of 36 years, Ronald of the home; son Dennis Zimmerman (Myrlene) of Dillon, Colorado; daughters, Deborah Zimmerman of Salina, Kansas and Billie Beck (Rodger) of Russell, Kansas; brother, Billy P. Evans of Kimble, Nebraska; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, grandson Evan James Mitchell, three brothers and three sisters.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  There will be no visitation due to cremation.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary is in charge of these arrangements.
