Goldia Mae Robinson, 83, of Lakewood, Colorado and former Natoma resident died on Monday, May 14, 2012 at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood.

Goldia was born on February 11, 1929, in Lawrence, Nebraska, the daughter of Merrit and Ollie (Barentine) Maddox.  She grew up in the Woodston, Kansas, and area and attended Woodston High School.  She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Virgil Robinson on June 12, 1948 in Hill City, Kansas.  From this union they were blessed with five children, sons Marty, Danny, Craig and Jim and a daughter Cynthia.  The family lived in Natoma from 1954 to 1958 before moving to California and finally settling in Colorado.  She worked as a clerk at King Sooper’s Grocery as a phone order clerk for 7 years.  She was a member of the V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary and the Green Mountain Home Owners Association in Colorado.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving family include her children, sons Marty Robinson of Downs, Kansas, Danny Robinson of Denver, Colorado, Craig Robinson of Westminster, Colorado and Jim Robinson of Lakewood, Colorado; daughter Cynthia Geisler of Downs, Kansas; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Virgil on July 29, 1966, brothers Bob and Nova Maddox and sisters Rosale Palmer, Eunice Williams and Sylvia Belveal.

A graveside service to honor Goldia’s life will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, May 18, 2012, at the Natoma City Cemetery in Natoma, Kansas with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating.  Burial will follow the graveside service.  Visitation and family greeting will be from 9 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. on Friday morning at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Natoma, Kansas, who is in charge of the graveside service arrangements.
