Norma Jean Steele, 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in Russell, Kansas. 
She was born on October 24, 1925 to Bina Marie and Doran Ray Dole.  She met and married Allen Thomas (Tom) Steele Jr. who preceded her in death.  She is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife Elizabeth of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and son Joseph and his wife Sheryl Ann of Arkansas City, Kansas.  Mike and Liz have three sons. Travis and Melissa Steele of Humble, Texas.  Adam and Cali Steele and Thomas Steele of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Joe and Sheryl Ann have one daughter Kelsey and her husband Miles McGovney of Stillwater, Oklahoma.  She was also preceded in death by her son Dr. Thomas Allen Steele of Branson, Missouri leaving his wife Sylvia and their two daughters Erin of Springfield, Missouri and Tabitha of Kansas City Kansas.  She was also preceeded in death by her other son Kenneth Robert of Branson Missouri leaving his daughter Lutitia and her husband William Holmes of Fairbanks, Alaska.  She also had five great-grandchildren.  Norma was always a homemaker, but found time to sell real estate for over 20 years.   Family and friends were important to Norma. 

Celebration of Norma Jean’s Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Trinity United Methodist Church of Russell with Pastor John Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Russell City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from Noon to 8 PM Friday, June 8, 2012 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary.  The family will be present to greet friends from 9 AM to Service Time Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church.  A memorial has been established with Trinity United Methodist Church.  Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these funeral arrangements.
