Betty I. (Bronson) Henderson, 82 of Bunker Hill, Kansas died Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas.
Betty was born September 9, 1930 in Russell County, the daughter of Bertrum T. and Rose H. (Biays) Bronson. She was growing up in Bunker Hill when at the age of 9, they moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Betty was united in marriage to John S. Wilson, Sr. in December of 1945. This union was blessed with four children; Judy, Rose Mary, John Jr. and Tim. Later she was united in marriage to Laurence Henderson in October of 1960. They moved back to Bunker Hill in 1961. Then in 1966 they moved back south to Louisiana. Laurence and Betty moved back to Bunker Hill in 2003 to be closer to family. Laurence preceded her in death in 2005.
Early in life, Betty worked at the Otasco store. Later she was a child care provider in her home for many years where she touched the lives of many children.
Betty loved to do cross word puzzles, sewing, crocheting and gardening.
Surviving family include her two daughters, Judy Satchell (Paul) of Bunker Hill, Kansas and Rose Mary Bostick of West Monroe, Louisiana; son Tim Wilson (Wanda) of Cat Spring, Texas; three sisters, Mary Lou Ross of Toomsuba, Mississippi, Doris Pratt of Ft. Worth, Texas and Shirley Taylor of College Station, Texas; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 5 nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her son John Wilson, Jr.
A Memorial Service for Betty will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Condolence may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary who is in charge of these arrangements.
