Patricia Louise Boxberger, 79, of Russell, Kansas, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell, Kansas.

Patricia was born on January 24, 1933, in Gunsight, Texas, the daughter of Homer and Doris (Beyers) Perry.  As a child, her father was in the military, which gave Patricia the opportunity to  live in many different places in west Texas and California during World War II.  Her family moved to Kansas when she was in her teens.  It was during this time she met and fell in love with the love of her life Robert Boxberger.  Patricia and Robert were united in marriage on February 17, 1951 in Salina, Kansas and decided to make their home in Russell, Kansas.  From this union they were blessed with two sons Steve and Perry.  Throughout the years the family farmed and ranched and to help support the family, Patricia owned and operated the Boxberger Retail Liquor Store in Russell for 28 years until Patricia and Robert retired.  She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Russell, the V.F.W. Post #6240 Ladies Auxiliary and actively supported the Russell Elks Lodge.  She loved spending time with her boys, their spouses Coleen and Kris and her grandsons Jacob and Blake.  She also enjoyed watching wildlife, flower gardening, good friends and loving on her pets.

Surviving family include her husband Robert of the home; sons Steve Boxberger and wife Coleen and Perry Boxberger and wife Kris all of Russell, Kansas; grandchildren Jacob Boxberger and fiancée Marie and Blake Boxberger.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service to celebrate Patricia’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Russell with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating.  Cremation has been selected by the family with a private graveside service taking place at a later date.  Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church or the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and may be sent to the mortuary.  The guestbook will be available to friends and family from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at the mortuary.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the memorial service arrangements.
