Darci Lynn VonFeldt, 30, of Russell, Kansas, died on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.

Darci was born on February 22, 1982, in Russell, the daughter of Steven and Julie (Thielen) VonFeldt.  She grew up in the Russell area, attended local schools and graduated from Russell High School in 2000.  After high school she moved to Olathe, Kansas, where she received an Associate’s Degree in Business and Broadcast Journalism from Johnson County Community College.  After college she moved to Overland Park, Kansas, for several years.  While she lived in the Kansas City area she opened and managed the Club Blonde, located in the Plaza.  Then she co-managed the VooDoo Lounge at Harrah’s Casino and was in charge of booking entertainment.  Later she worked as an assistant manager for P.B.R. Big Sky for many years and then managed Luna Nightclub both in the Power and Light district.  Darci grew up loving music and this passion grew throughout her life, so it only made sense that while in Kansas City she was a band manger of two different bands.  She also expressed her love for music through her many paintings that often reflected musical themes.

Surviving family include her mother, Julie VonFeldt of Russell, Kansas; father and step mother, Steven and Mary VonFeldt of Russell, Kansas; sister Erin VonFeldt of Lenexa, Kansas; Grandmother Norma Thielen of Russell and Darci’s Persian Cat ”Maizie” whom she loved like a child; four step brothers and three step sisters.

She was preceded in death by her Grandparents Velma and Roy VonFeldt, Grandfather Lionel Thielen and Uncle Bradley Thielen.

The funeral mass for Darci will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the St. Mary Queen Of Angels Catholic Church in Russell with Father Charles Steier officiating.  Burial of the ashes will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Dorrance, Kansas, and will immediately follow the funeral mass.  A Vigil will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday, November 26, 2012, at St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic Church. The guestbook will be available for friends and family to sign on Monday, November 26, 2012, at the mortuary.  The family requests that memorials be given to the Darci VonFeldt Memorial Fund and sent in care of the mortuary.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary is in charge of the memorial service arrangements.
