Mari Alice Bernhard, 72, of Russell, Kansas, died on Friday, January 04, 2013, at the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell.

Mari was born on August 01, 1940, in Wetzel County, West Virginia, the daughter of Robert "Bud" and Helen (Lemon) Frye-Willey.  She grew up in New Martinsville, West Virginia and attended Magnolia High School.  She worked as a Certified Nurses Aid (CNA) for many years.  She enjoyed baby sitting, watching TV and spending time with family and friends.

Mari was survived by her 3 children; daughters Fonda Mitchell and Kimberly Faye Sharp of Sunray, Texas and son Larry Dean Harton of Huntsville, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Robert William Harton, daughter Cindy Marie Perkins, one sister and two brothers.

Services for Mari will take place at a later date and cremation has been selected by the family.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the cremation service arrangements.
