Harry Keith Phillips, 81, of Russell, Kansas, died on Friday, January 04, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Keith was born on February 22, 1931, in Russell the son of Frank and Minnie (Harsh) Phillips. He grew up and attended school in Russell. He met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Ruth N. Gossett on April 25, 1952 in Russell. From this union Keith and Ruth were blessed with one son, Kevin. Keith worked as a superintendant for the National Cooperative Refinery Association and retired in 1989 after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Russell. He enjoyed hunting, collecting guns, motorcycles and working on cars. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving family include his wife Ruth of the home, son Kevin Phillips and wife Christine of Blue Springs, Missouri and 2 grandchildren Dakota Phillips and Hunter Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dale, Doyle and Kenneth and sister Alveta Reddig.
Cremation has been selected by the family and a private memorial service will take place at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Otterbein United Methodist Church or the Trinity United Methodist Church, both of Russell, and sent in care of the mortuary. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
