Frank Royal Jennrich, Jr., 87, of the Russell County area, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at the Golden Living Center of Wilson, Kansas.

Frank was born on March 20, 1925, on the family farm near Paradise, Kansas northwest of Russell. He was the first son of Frank Royal, Sr. and Violet Rose (Heard) Jennrich.  He attended Fay School District #51 until his eighth grade year and attended one year at Russell High School.  When he was young he helped his father with the family farm and as he grew older he also helped other farmers in the area.  Later he worked for the Mapes Grocery Store in Russell and the Deines Brother Furniture Store, as well as some oil field work.  He also loved working in the press box at the Fort Hays State University football games.  During his life he lived in Russell, Rupert, Idaho, Fairport and Hays, Kansas, and after leaving Gorham in 1999 to Wilson, Kansas  Frank was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gorham, Kansas.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching football and basketball games.

Surviving family include his sisters Betty Soukup of  Wilson, Kansas and Doris Dolezal of Kanopolis, Kansas; nephews Douglas Dolezal of Kanopolis, Kansas and Larry Soukup of Wilson, Kansas; nieces Twila Angel of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, Melissa and Michelle Jennrich both of Hays, Kansas, as well as 4 great nieces, 2 great-great nieces and one great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers William Dean Jennrich and Robert Otto Jennrich and niece Marcia Ann Soukup.

A memorial mass to celebrate Frank’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at the St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Russell with Father Charles Steier officiating.  The rosary service will take place at 10 A.M. the day of the service.  Guestbook registration will be from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the mortuary.  Memorial contributions may be given to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wilson or St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Russell and sent to the mortuary.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the memorial service arrangements.
