Emmanuel “Mac” David Dumler, 70 of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, formerly of Russell, passed from this life Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.

Emmanuel was born July 10, 1942 in Hays, Kansas, the son of Ferdinand and Tabea Esther (Boxberger) Dumler.  He grew up south of Russell and graduated from Otis High School.

Emmanuel served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era.  He was an Air Traffic Controller in Europe.

Emmanuel met, fell in love and was united in marriage with Brenda Porter on August 21, 1966 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  They met at a 4-H Co-op camp in Liberty, Missouri and made their home in Lee’s Summit. They were blessed with three children; Susan, David and Robert.

Emmanuel was a member and former board member and elder of Lee’s Summit Christian Church.  He also was a board member of YMCA, Lee’s Summit Parks Board, and member of NRA.  He was a patriotic man who loved to chat with anyone, tinker and repair items, study the bible and spend time with family and friends.

Surviving family included his wife of 46 years, Brenda; two sons, David (Lisa) Dumler and Robert (Shelly) Dumler all of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; daughter, Susan (Keith) Moffatt of Newcastle, Washington; brother Calvin Dumler of Great Bend, Kansas; five grandchildren Bailey, Brooklyn, Jackson, Amber and Tyler.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
