Lowell R. Lund, 81, of Waldo, Kansas died July 19, 2013 at Via Christi-St. Francis Burn Center in Wichita, Kansas.
 
Lowell was born December 28, 1931 in Victor Township in Osborne, County the son of Harold and Alma (Bradshaw) Lund. He grew up on the family farm in Osborne County. He was a graduate of Osborne High School.

Lowell was united in marriage to Janice Murphy in Covert, Kansas  on July 25th, 1954.  This union was blessed with five children: twins Rod and Rex, Rick, Tammy, and Trudy. They made their home in Osborne County.

Lowell was a stockman and farmer his entire life in Osborne County. He ran the Lund’s Dairy Air for over 40 years. He served on the township board for over 50 years and was a member of the Paradise United Methodist Church. He enjoyed in participating in and watching basketball, coyote hunting with his greyhounds, but the most important things to him was his family. He was proud to be able to attend his children and grandchildren’s activities.

Surviving family includes his wife of 58 years, Janice of the home; two sons, Rod Lund (Sherrill) of Osborne, Kansas and Rick Lund (Pat) of Lincoln, Kansas; two daughters, Tammy Schultze (Kendall) of Waldo, Kansas and Trudy Kamphaus (Kevin) of Udall, Kansas; brother, Doyle Lund of Osborne, Kansas and two sisters, Marvelene Schreiber and Phyllis Kreft, both of Osborne, Kansas; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Rex, and daughter in law, Betty Lund.

Celebration of Lowell’s life will be held at 1pm Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Paradise United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Tempero officiating. Burial will follow at the Osborne City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday at Pohlman Varner Peeler Mortuary in Russell. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Memorials have been established with the Paradise United Methodist Church and the Osborne County Memorial Hospital.
