Kathleen D. Williams, 92 of Russell, Kansas died Friday, October 04, 2013 at the Russell Regional Hospital.

Kathleen was born November 29, 1920 in Jewell County, Kansas the daughter of William J. and Mary Agnes (Doyle) Grennan.  She grew up in Jewell County north of Beloit, Kansas and in Cloud County west of Jamestown, Kansas.  She graduated from Mary Mount College with a degree in Education and later graduated from San Diego University with a Masters in Special Education.

Kathleen was united in marriage to Albert Lundblade in 1949.  They moved to California in 1954. Albert preceded her in death in 1965.  Later she was united in marriage to George A. Williams in 1967 in Sacramento, California.  George preceded her in death in 2005.  Kathleen moved to Russell in 2010.

Kathleen was an elementary school teacher in Cloud County and Mitchell County before they moved to California.  She taught school also in San Diego and Sacramento, California.

Kathleen was a member of St. John Evangelist in San Diego.  She also was active in St. Vincent De Paul Charities, Altar and Rosary Society and bridge club.  She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, gardening, cooking, camping, fishing, boating and picture albums.

Kathleen’s surviving family include her brother, Fr. James Grennan; and two sisters, Margaret Daily of Abilene, Kansas and Polly (Frances) Champlin of Mead, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, brothers  John Grennan, Frank Grennan, Tom Grennan, Mike Grennan and Bill Grennan and sisters, Sr. Rose, Loretta Cady and Marie Stover,

Celebration of the Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Russell with Fr. James Grennan and Fr. Larry Grennan officiating.  A Graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery near Jamestown, Kansas.  Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to start of the Vigil at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell.  Condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary who is in charge of these arrangements.
