Martha Estella (Reinhardt) Dumler, 93 of Lawrence and formerly of Russell passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 at Brandonwood Health Center in Lawrence..  Martha was born March 12, 1914 in Russell, Kansas the daughter of Henry and Katherine E. (Mai) Reinhardt.  She grew up on a farm southwest of Russell.  She was a graduate of Russell High School.

Martha was united in marriage to Marvin Herbert Dumler on March 22, 1936 in Russell.  This union was blessed with two children, Fredrick and Rosemary.  She and Marvin loved wintering in Texas.  Marvin preceded her in death on March 14, 1991.  She moved to Arizona in August 1991 and lived in Mesa and Scottsdale until June 2004.  She moved to Lawrence and lived at Vintage and then to Brandonwood Health Center in March 2005.

Martha was a bookkeeper.  She owned and operated the M & M Drive-In and Camp Joy.  She also was a real estate broker.

She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Russell and the American Legion Post 99 Auxiliary.  Martha was an active lady who enjoyed many activities like fishing, playing Bridge, line dancing, taking bus trips, sewing and hand work crafts, walking and reading. 

Martha’s surviving family include her son, Fred Dumler and wife Naomi of Apache Junction, Arizona; daughter, Rosemary Morris of Lawrence, Kansas; two sisters, Vera Dawson of Russell, Kansas and Hattie Wittman of Brighton, Colorado; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Milton, Arnold and Martin; and eight sisters, Olinda Stenzel, Alvina Michel, Pauline Boxberger, Elfreda Boxberger Stenzel, Esther Eichman, Ella Nora Eichman, Isabel Eichman and Marie Burket; and one grandchild.

Celebration of Martha’s Life is scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery in Russell.  Visitation will be from 8 AM to 8 PM Friday at the mortuary.  Memorial has been established with the International Essential Tremor Foundation (IETF) or donor’s choice.  Contributions may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary.  Condolences may also be sent to www.pvpmortuary.com.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary is in charge of these arrangements.
