Christopher Alan “Chris” Ehrlich, 25, of Cushing, Oklahoma and former Russell resident died as a result of an auto accident on Thursday, July 17, 2008 in Cushing.  Chris was born on March 20, 1983 in Hays, Kansas, the son of Ron G. and Theresa A. (Grizzle) Ehrlich.

Chris grew up in the Russell area and graduated from Russell High School.  While in Russell he worked for Glen Becker Construction.  In 2005 he and his family moved to Agra, Oklahoma near Cushing, while there Chris worked for the City of Cushing as a laborer.  In 2007 Chris’s family moved back to the Russell area but Chris remained in Cushing where he was currently working as a “Lead Man” for Continental Concrete.  He also worked part time at the Agra Mini Mart in Agra, Oklahoma.  He enjoyed putting together model cars and engines, stone carving, hunting, camping and spending time with family and friends.  He was a former attendant of the Westview Church in Hays, was a very social person with a great sense of humor.

Surviving family include his parents Ron & Theresa Ehrlich of Hays; Fiancé Kayla Tait of Cushing, brothers James Ehrlich and wife Maggie and Dan Ehrlich all of Ripley, Oklahoma;  maternal grandparents Leon & Ernestine Grizzle of Russell and paternal grandmother Shirley Pitchford of Quinton, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa Wilbert Ehrlich and step grandpa Verbin Pitchford  

Funeral Services for Chris will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary Chapel of Russell.  Burial will follow at the Russell City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM on Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell.  The family will be present to greet visitors from 6 PM to 8 PM at the mortuary.  Memorials may be given to the Chris Ehrlich Memorial Fund.  Memorials and condolences may be mailed to the mortuary at 610 N. Maple * Russell, KS  67665.  Condolences may be emailed by going to www.pvpmortuary.com.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
