Faith Lorene (Seeley) Dumler, 89 of Russell died Tuesday morning, December 9, 2008 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.  Faith was born January 15, 1919 in Rosalia, Kansas, the daughter of Alvin “A.E.” and Katherine E. (Springer) Seeley.  At the age of 3, Faith and her family moved to a ranch outside of Russell.  She attended school in Russell and graduated from Russell High School.  She also graduated from the University of Kansas in 1940.

 

Faith was united in marriage to Harold L. Dumler on June 8, 1942 in Russell.  This union was blessed with three sons; Earle, Harold “Hal” and Brian.  Her husband preceded her in death on February 9, 1997.

 

Faith was a teacher at Russell High School for three years before she devoted her life to her family as a homemaker.

 

Faith was a member of the First Congregational Church of Russell.  In College she belonged to the Alpha Kai Omega Sorority, Phi Beta Kappa with her studies, Delta Kappa Gamma and P.E.O.  Faith loved music, dancing and singing and a proud alumni of KU.

 

Surviving family include her three sons, Earle Dumler, Harold “Hal” Dumler and Brian Dumler all of Los Angeles, California; four grandchildren, Christopher Dumler, Kale Dumler, Katherine Cook and Jessica Dumler.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Myron Seeley and sister Frances Racine.

 

Celebration of Faith’s Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 12, 2008 at the First Congregational Church of Russell.  A private family committal will take place before the service.  Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Thursday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell.  Memorials have been established with the First Congregational Church of Russell and Russell Regional Hospital.  Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, who is in charge of the these arrangements.  Condolences may also be sent via email at www.pvpmortuary.com.
