Lore was working in a retail store in Germany when she met Dean Wilbur Voos.  They were united in marriage on March 1, 1952 in Stuttgart.  This union was blessed with four children; Bob, Connie, Tammy and John.  When Dean’s military service was completed in 1952 they moved to Russell to raise their family.

Lore was a devoted wife, loving mother and a homemaker. She also worked as a waitress at Red’s Chicken House and the Daylight Donuts here in Russell.

She was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church and the Russell V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, but nothing was more important than her children and grandchildren’s sports activities.

Her surviving family include her husband of 56 years, Dean of the home; sons, Bob Voos and wife Elaine of Russell and John Voos and wife Kim of Austin, Texas; daughters, Connie McMillen and husband Ken and Tammy Krug all of Russell; sisters, Anni Mossner of Stuttgart, Germany and Margot Dishman of Groover City, California; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ernst Lauster and sisters, Gertrude Heimgartner and Hella McElroy.

Celebration of Lore’s Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating.  Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Friday at the mortuary.  Cremation will take place following the services.  A Memorial has been established with the St. John Lutheran Church.  Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary.  Condolences may also be sent via email at www.pvpmortuary.com.
