Lissa Clair McAdoo, 52 of Russell died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. Lissa was born July 27, 1956 in Russell, the daughter of Louis L. Louder and Eloise M. Krug. She grew up and started attending school in Russell, but moved to the Osborne area and graduated from Osborne High School. She has lived most all of her life in the Russell County area.
Lissa was united in marriage to Larry E. McAdoo in October of 1976 in Russell. This union was blessed with one daughter, Crystal.
Lissa was a homemaker at heart, but also worked as a cook for Nickerson Farms, Meridys Restaurant, and Shacks. She also worked as a nurse’s aid for the Russell Hospital and a nursing home.
Lissa is a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Russell. Lissa was a fun loving person who enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved playing cards, wrestling with a one armed bandit and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving family include her husband Larry of the home; daughter, Crystal McAdoo of Hays, Kansas; sisters, Laurel V. Rhoads of Wichita, Kansas and Mari C. Becker of Annandale, West Virginia; and a grandson, Dawson Fielder. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Clinton McAdoo.
27, 2009 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell. A private family committal will follow the services. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Thursday at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary with the family present to greet friends from 6 PM to 7 PM. A memorial has been established as the Lissa McAdoo Memorial. Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary who is in charge of these arrangements.
