When she was just a baby, Linda and her family moved to Russell.  She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School.  Linda worked hard all her life, and became a very accomplished cook.  She owned a restaurant in Hoisington for a couple of years before returning back to Russell.  She also cooked for the Russell Inn, Fossil Station, St. Johns Assisted Living as well as the Elks, V.F.W. Post #6240 and American Legion Post #99.  To help support her family, Linda also worked as a bartender.  She enjoyed tending bar, visiting, joking and being ornery with her customers.  When she was not cooking at the restaurant, she enjoyed cooking for her family.  She also enjoyed being with friends, canning and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandson.  Any spare time she had left, you could finder her working with the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries and she was a longtime member of both organizations.

Surviving family include her daughter Tammy Pellant and Linda’s grandson Colton both of Wilson; long time companion Terry Tyfault of Russell; brother Willis D. Watson, Jr. of Wichita; two sisters Kathy Watson of Wichita and Barbara Sheldon of Russell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell with Pastor Dale Lane officiating.  Cremation will take place following the chapel service.  Visitation will be from 8:00 A.M. to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009.  Memorials may be given to Southwind Hospice and may be sent in care of the mortuary.  Condolences may be sent via email by going to www.pvpmortuary.com.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
