Visitation and Guest Book Registration: 9 A.M to 8 P.M. on Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell.
Family Greeting Visitors: 4 PM to 6 PM on Friday, Oct. 2 at the mortuary.
Burial: Lebo Creek Cemetery in Lebo, Kansas.

Thomas Wayne Berry, Sr., 50 of Russell died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the Hays Medical Center. Tom was born May 2, 1959 in Orange County, California. During his childhood he moved to Wewoka, Oklahoma where he was raised by Clarence Brinsfield. He graduated from Wewoka High School and then attended three years of college in California.
Tom served in the U.S. Army from 1979 to 1982.
Tom was united in marriage to Randa Combes on February 7, 1994 in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Tom loved to be working on cars. He was a gifted mechanic that could fix anything. He also worked in the oil fields in Oklahoma as a tool pusher and on the drilling units. He moved to Russell in 2007.
Tom was a member of the New Life Church in Wewoka. He also attended the Harvest Church in LaCrosse, Kansas and the Assembly of God Church in Russell. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved the challenge of figuring out how to fix things.
Surviving family include his wife Randa of the home; three sons, Tommy Berry, Jr. and Justin “J.J.” Berry of Russell and Richard Green of Ellsworth; four daughters, Jessica Hager of Russell, Danelle Berry and Wendy Simms both of Washington and Carlie Nell; three brothers, Sonny Labm of Seattle, Washington, Larry Berry of Moore, Oklahoma and Billy Williams of Wewoka, Oklahoma; three sisters, Cheryl Caruso of Seminole, Oklahoma, Billie Stark of Wewoka, Oklahoma and BJ Phillips of Chapin, South Carolina; and 9 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Celebration of Tom’s Life and graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Lebo Creek Cemetery in Lebo, Kansas with Joe Combes officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Friday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell with the family present to greet friends from 4 PM to 6 PM. A memorial has been established as the Tom Berry Memorial. Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary who is in charge of these arrangements.
