Margaret JoAnn (Boele) Radke, 67 of Milberger died Monday, January 04, 2010 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas

Margaret was born January 26, 1942 in Great Bend, Kansas the daughter of John C. and Frances V. (Horine) Boele.  She grew up and attended schools in Great Bend and the Kit Carson, Colorado area.

Margaret was united in marriage to Carl Radke on December 26, 1971 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend.  This union was blessed with two children, Pamela and Michael.

Margaret was a devoted mother and homemaker.  She helped Carl on the farm and with his bookkeeping for the oil units he pumped.

Margaret was a member of the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Milberger.  She taught Sunday school for many years. Her and Carl were the Woodworking Superintendents for the 4-H fair from 1980 to 2000.  She loved gardening, collecting antiques and her cats.

Surviving family include her husband of 38 years, Carl of the home; son Michael Radke and daughter Pam Rowell both of Russell; brother, Robert L. Boele of Radium, Kansas; and three grandchildren, James Rowell, Kasey Radke and Michaela Radke.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 brothers and sisters.

Celebration of Margaret’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Milberger with Pastor Amy Austin officiating.  Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell with the family present to greet friends from 6 PM to 7 PM.  Cremation will follow the services.  A memorial has been established with the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church.  Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler who is in charge of these arrangements.
