Marjorie was united in marriage to James Brown on December 28, 1947 in Russell.  She had to take a bus from New York to get here.  This union was blessed with two children, Janet and Paul.  Marjorie and Jim made their home in the Gorham and Russell area.

Marjorie was a devoted mother and homemaker while the children were growing up.  After that she worked at the Russell News office from the early 70’s to the early 90’s.

Marjorie was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Russell.  She was very active in the church and was involved with Martha’s Circle and the Music & Worship Committee.  Music was important in her life and she was very active in the choirs of every church she attended.  She also was a member of the Rebecca Lodge #594, Methodist Music Ministry, Congregational Golden Rule, Golden Belt Community Concert in Great Bend, and was also involved with Bible study.  Any spare time she had she loved spending it with family and her flower gardens.

Surviving family include her husband of 62 years, James of the home; daughter, Janet Thurow and husband John of Ellinwood, Kansas; son, Paul Brown and wife Peggy of Victoria, Texas; four grandchildren, Anliet Milke, Jarred Milke, Jason Brown and Nathan and wife Tiffany Brown; and one great grandchild, Korben Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Leon Moore and Roger Moore; sister Geraldine Wescott; and son-in-law, Gary Milke.
