Dale Eugene Beiser, 77, of Russell, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Russell Regional Hospital. Dale was born September 14, 1932 in Lewis, Kansas, the son of Harry M. and Leola (Wilkerson) Beiser. He grew up in Lewis and graduated from Lewis High School in 1950. He also attended the Colorado School of Banking.
Dale joined the United States National Guard in 1958. He graduated from the Officer’s Candidate School, retiring in 1964 as a First Lieutenant.
Dale was united in marriage to Norma Fisher on September 16, 1951 in Lewis, Kansas. This union was blessed with three children; Vickie, Greg and Lisa. Later, Dale was united in marriage to Elsie (Keller) Ehrlich on March 13, 1999 in Russell.
Dale was involved in farming and banking most of his life. He worked at Home State Bank of Lewis, Farmer’s State Bank of Albert, Kansas and was President of Bushton Bank in Bushton, Kansas.
Dale lived in Lewis until 1977 when he moved to Great Bend, Kansas. In 1994, he returned to Lewis. After his marriage in 1999, Dale moved to Russell, Kansas. He was a member of the Lewis United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir for many years. He was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Lewis, where he received his 50 year pin. He also belonged to the Scottish Rite Consistory of Wichita, American Legion Post #99 and the Russell Elks Lodge. Dale had been attending the St. John Lutheran Church of Russell. He loved golfing, fishing and dancing.
Surviving family include his wife of 10 years, Elsie of the home; daughters, Vickie Fisher and husband Guy of Atlantic, Iowa and Lisa Gevara and husband Mick of Larned, Kansas; son, Greg Beiser and wife Vicki of Quinter, Kansas; stepdaughter, Phyllis Wegele of Denver, Colorado; stepson, Phil Huffman and wife Dolores of Dodge City, Kansas; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald Beiser and sister Barbara McBee.
Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church of Russell with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday at the Wayne Cemetery in Lewis, Kansas with Guy Fisher officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell with the family present to greet friends from 6 PM to 7 PM. Memorials have been established with the St. John Lutheran Church and Lewis United Methodist Church. Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, who is in charge of these arrangements.
