Daryl grew up and spent most all his live in the Russell area. He attended Russell schools and graduated from Russell High School in 1969. He met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Frances Jane Bahr on December 8, 1974 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Russell. He worked as a farmer and rancher most all his life. He also worked as a heavy equipment operator for Hubert Radke for many years. Daryl was not a stranger to hard work, working on his farm every day, but he also worked hard in the fields helping his friends during harvest. Anyone who knew Daryl, knows that he loved, teasing, having fun and playing small practical jokes on his friends. He enjoyed being a member of St. John Lutheran Church and participating in the church bible study. Daryl, had a special gift, and that was the gift of gab. Daryl could make conversation with just about anyone. It did not matter if you were a close friend, relative or total stranger, Daryl would always have a funny story, joke or comment needed to break the ice or lift a person’s spirits. Daryl’s kind nature and caring heart will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Surviving family include his wife of 35 years, Jane of the home and a sister Diana Edgmon, her husband John of Wheeling, West Virginia and their 3 children Jason, Jeremy and Dena. He was preceded in death by his parents.
