Family Visitation:  6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on Friday at the mortuary.  Rosary will begin at 7:30 P.M. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary.

Ella Mae (Cooper) Driscoll, 82 of Russell died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Main Street Manor of Russell, Kansas.

Ella Mae was born August 17, 1927 on the family farm north of Dorrance, Kansas, the daughter of Oliver Peary and Lea (Herbel) Cooper.  She grew up on this farm and graduated from Dorrance High School. 

Ella Mae was united in marriage to Jerry J. Driscoll on February 23, 1950 in Osborne, Kansas.  This union was blessed with three children; John, Sherry and Mitchel.  They lived in Dorrance for a short time before moving to Russell in 1954. 

Ella Mae was a devoted wife and mother.  She took great pride in her home, their farm and her children.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Russell Council of Catholic Women.  She loved watching game shows and Polka dancing.  She was an outdoor person that loved animals. 

Her surviving family include two sons, John Driscoll and wife Yvonne and Mitchel Driscoll and wife Amy all of Russell, Kansas; two sisters, Dorothy Lee Bear of Russell, Kansas and Marlene Baral and husband Luther of Bunker Hill, Kansas; six grandchildren, Victoria  and husband Jamie, Anthony, Talbot, Andrew, Matthew and Logan; and many cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sherry Driscoll and brother Daryl Cooper. 

Celebration of the Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Charles Steier officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Russell.  Visitation will be Friday, March 12, 2010 from 9 AM to 7:30 PM at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell with the family present to greet friends from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.  A Vigil will be held at 7:30 PM Friday at the mortuary.  A memorial has been established with the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Fund.  Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.  Condolences may also be sent via email at www.pvpmortuary.com.
